Action Gatineau announced on March 6, 2018, the hiring of François Soucy as its first director-general. He will be acting under the authority of Action Gatineau’s Executive Committee and will have the responsibility to support the party’s mission and further its objectives as well as ensure the sound management of the organization. He will play a central role in mobilizing current members and in recruiting new ones. He will also work on the development and the implementation of the party’s political program and oversee its activities.
François Soucy had been working as the legislative assistant to Marjolaine Boutin-Sweet, MP for the district of Hochelaga and Whip for the NDP since 2011. His active interests have led him to manage many electoral campaigns in Quebec and to hold various positions within the labour movement. His wealth of knowledge in public policy and politics and his experience in research at UQAM and with the NDP make him the ideal person to guide the municipal party of Action Gatineau.
