Message from the Mayor

To make Gatineau an even better city, I need your support, but I also need a municipal council that works together as a team. The candidates on my team share the same vision of the future and they are ready to work for their district and for you, and at the same time contribute to the progress of our city in a constructive and positive way.

In the last four years, we have accomplished a great deal for Gatineau. The city is better known than ever before, our downtown is coming back to life and for the first time we have built a real relationship with the City of Ottawa, particularly in order to improve travel between the two sides of the river.  In the area of public transit, we have brought significant changes to the STO and to Railbus and we have made investments to improve service throughout Gatineau. As a consequence, ridership has continually increased.

We have also made investments in the quality of life by improving parks, building new fields with synthetic surfaces, preparing a plan for the construction of new arenas and enhancing our green spaces and waterways. In order to improve services to the population and make life easier for our entrepreneurs, we have made significant reforms in city planning and in economic development, while reducing regulations and reviewing our methods of operation.

However, we can do better still to improve the quality of life of families, seniors and the youth. I hope to count on your help to give our city a solid team that shares the same vision for the future of Gatineau and that will help our city occupy the position it justly deserves.

Maxime Pedneaud-Jobin, Mayor of Gatineau
